How many board members can you have in a non profit org?

I want to start a non-profit org. Kinda like a religious center. And I need to know what is the maximum amount of board members we can have?
I need to know if there is a maximum amount. Also the organization will be based out of Los Angeles, California.

1. Minimum of 3-5 depends on the articles and needs of the organization, for each board is designated to hold responsibility in term of services to the organization.
2. I want to do thaT TOO! I know there is a minimum number of board members required, depending on where the organization is based. IN the Philippines, it would depend on the law there. I do not think there is a maximum number.
