Is there a free chat product for windows? My son uses iChat on his Apple.?

My daughter wants to chat with her friends and all of them have Windows. My son uses iChat.



Is there a free product for my daughter or is she stuck with IM only?



If there is currently no free product for Windows, is there one on the horizon?

2. Well, there is always Skype. You should really check it out. Free video chat, phone chat, IM to anyone else on Skype. Cheap calls to landlines and cell phones (obscenely cheap, actually).
3. AIM will interface with iChat, so the two could talk together. There's also trillian that will allow multiple chat services, like AIM, Yahoo, ICQ, MSN, Google to all chat within one window...
