Is there any free public voice chat room service?

I am looking for a free voice chat room service/software that allows you to join chat rooms based on topics and chat using voice.



I am not looking for a voice chat program where people who already know each other connect for group and one-on-one chats like Skype. Rather, I am looking for something more open to the public where strangers can meet and chat via voice.
This isn't as important but I'm just curious, if there is any software like this that also supports public web cam chats.

2. Try Ventrilo, Teamspeak (more like Skype but if you find "public" servers it may be what you are ofter)
3. yeah, check out Skype. it's good but i think it limits the total number of users at a given time but it has real good quality
